Several parts of the world do not benefit from Huawei’s technological prowess. Despite the slowdown, China’s tech giant is still churning out products, although at a slower pace than earlier. You can buy true wireless earbuds from Huawei in India, one of the few products available in the country. Recent offerings from Huawei include FreeBuds 4i. The FreeBuds 4i is no exception, as Huawei products are always of high quality. Here’s what we think about the Free Buds 4i true wireless earbuds after using them for a while.
Review of the Huawei FreeBuds 4i: You’ll notice that the charging case is the first thing to catch your attention. It has a sleek oval design and feels premium. When put in your pocket, it has a shiny finish and can be comfortably carried. These earbuds also have a glossy finish, making them a little slippery. In spite of this, the silicone tips and long stems of the earbuds ensure a snug fit. I can listen to music or watch content for hours on end without worrying that the earbuds will fall out. The earbuds’ capacitive sensors let you pause and play music. Toggling between the ANC modes is done by long-tapping on the earbuds.
Another Feature of FreeBuds 4i
Huawei’s touch controls are customizable as well as its app support. We, however, did not tinker with the controls too much.
There is no wireless charging support in the charging case. Nevertheless, the earbuds are water-resistant, meaning they can withstand light rain and a few splashes. These earbuds are also sweat-proof, so fitness enthusiasts do not need to worry about wearing them during intense workout sessions. The Huawei FreeBuds 4i are very similar to most earbuds when it comes to setting up. It only takes a matter of seconds for the earbuds to pair when you hold down the charging case button. It was a joy using the earbuds since we encountered no connectivity issues.
The way Huawei’s earbuds fit is an essential component of the ANC’s success. With Huawei Free Buds 4i you can detect external noises with the help of microphones and block them with good results. We saw something similar with AirPods in the past.
The Huawei version and the Pro version both work fairly well.
With ANC, you can hear the person on the other end very clearly when making a call.
With the FreeBuds 4i, you can also listen to ambient sounds through the earbuds using their Awareness feature. In my experience, this mode is also very effective.
With the Huawei FreeBuds 4i, you get a well-balanced audio output produced by the 10mm dynamic drivers. This pair of earbuds sounded good with almost any type of music we listened to. Both the treble and vocals were clear and pleasing. A lot of care was taken in the instrument separation, and the bass levels never seem too jarring. The level of clarity remains constant regardless of volume. Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” illustrates nicely how vocals and instruments can be separated. On the Free Buds 4i, Enya’s Orinoco Flow also demonstrates how well the highs and lows can be balanced.
In our opinion, the Huawei Free Buds 4i performs quite well in terms of noise cancellation.
Also to their advantage are their battery life and durability. When the ANC is off, you can use your phone for about ten hours on a single charge, whereas with ANC you can use it for about seven. For those who want to avoid the hassle of regularly charging their wireless earbuds, this is great battery performance. You will be able to use your earbuds for at least two days without needing to charge them with the charging case.
